Happy thing.
An older woman, I’d say in her late 70’s, possibly 80’s, saw me sitting outside, listening to Prince on my phone.
She was tiny, almost frail, white haired, and had some wicked youthful eyes…
She was wearing a purple hat…she pointed to it, and said, “It’s a purple day….”
(Almost exactly like yours, Nicole Johnson)
I said “Yes…it certainly is…..”
I like having a good memory for what people say, because what THIS woman said was AWESOME.
She said, “Do you want to know something strange? I CRIED when I heard Prince died….
imagine! I’m old! Lots of people around me die at this age…I don’t get that upset much anymore.
I don’t know him, I’m not overly sentimental, but I just started crying, knowing he was gone….what an amazing genius he was!
I loved him! Such a showman! Now, I guess I’m glad I can still listen to his music, but he was so…..alive.
It’s hard to believe someone like PRINCE could die…You know what I mean?
You have good taste in music, and I hope you have a good night! Purple rain!”
What a cool bad ass woman.
Hope I turn out half as jawsome at her age.
