“Riggs” The Cat is a stray on the island of Kauai.
Riggs found us and has been following us all over the island. This cat is a sweet heart. He is one of thousands of stray cats on this island.
Hawaii has a significant overpopulation of cats. I reached out to the Humane Society and was informed if we surrendered him, he has 48 hours before he is destroyed. Sadly on this island thousands of cats were euthanized last year, and every year as a result of the overpopulation of feral/stray cats.
Riggs, doesn’t stand much of a chance of survival as the strays are dependent on strangers to feed them. Many go days or weeks without a meal. Life expectancy is only a few short years.
I cannot with any type of conscious say that I could simply board a plane without regretting having left a part of my own heart behind.
I am doing what I can to Rally For Riggs. Help me. If you can’t donate, can you please just share his story?
